The house ended in a dark kitchen and a small deck. The new addition adds a kitchen and family room on the ground floor and a primary suite above, with floor-to-ceiling glass facing the garden.
What we changed
Vertical cedar cladding and black steel frames sit quietly against the original brick, and the new structure was engineered to leave the neighbour's party wall untouched.
